Each of us are faced with difficult situations in our lives. Although we may preserve, sometimes we find ourselves wanting to give up. When you feel like this, Its important for you to remind yourself that the only way out of your trials is through them. Once you are through, you will reach your victory.
According to I Corinthians 15:58, there are three commands that will bring you victory. The first is Be Steadfast, the next is Be Unmovable and the finally Always Abound in the work of the Lord.
Be steadfast- in the Greek means to be seated, settled, and firm in the truth of the resurrection and victory in Christ.
Be Unmovable- in the Greek means to let nothing shake your faith or move you away from the hope of the gospel.
Always abound in the work of the Lord- knowing that what you do will be rewarded. What are the rewards? A crown of life, eternal life and victory here on earth.
What we are challenged with in everyday in life is the fact that we should follow our own will and do things our way but when you abide in the word of God and allow Him to guide you through, you will receive a greater reward.
Here are 3 reasons we go through these things:
1. The world seems to show a better way of success.
2. We are too connected to our vices (those things that we are addicted to).
3. We want to be in control of our own lives.
Peter says in the word of God, "it seems that when I want to do good, evil is always present with me." It is easier to do wrong than to do right. He was telling the Corinthians about the challenges he faced being a follower of Christ. He tells them of the great promise that is coming to those who hang in there and don't allow the temptation of the world to defeat their purpose.
Constantly remind yourself that you have greatness in you! When we become discouraged, we begin to move out of our place, our call and the job God has assigned to us.
We become weak when we... 1. Talk to the wrong people. 2. Doubt and fear. 3. Become impatient. 4. Look at our circumstances. 5. Stop praying, fasting and reading our word.
I want to encourage you to be steadfast and unmovable, always about in the work of the Lord. Your labor is not in vain!
